Always felt like you were destined to be rich? Me too!

This is a subject I know a lot about since I was 10 I remember feeling it deeply in my bones, like I was ‘different’, not from a place of arrogance but just destined for more on a massive scale. I used to question everything and believed we could all be anything. I think a lot stemmed from the mindset from my family also, which was always very much around the idea of “we are normal, but not rich”. That was truly a trigger to prove it even more. I just felt I should be rich not from a place of arrogance but just destined for more on a massive scale, do you feel it too? I used to question everything and believed we could all be anything we wanted.

Throughout the years of being 11 to 21, all I could see for my route to this was that I needed to be ‘famous’? Although I wasn’t looking for a shortcut, I was never afraid of hard work, I loved entertaining and I wanted to follow in that path. I would practice out of school hours, but still, after attending four auditions for my school Trinity Laban when I was 18, I got turned down. I was so set on going that I contacted the principal and the school board demanding to be seen again, they had made a mistake, haha.

They obviously refused but after my second call and sending them a doctor’s note in the post confirming I had bronchitis on that last audition, the principal agreed to see me again and this time I got in. In hindsight I don’t know how much more it was my tenacity that got me that place, but it was a win regardless.

I then graduated university at 21. At 22, I gained a working visa for Canada (after my first year being refused). I went and during that year I performed in so many different scenarios, from free performances with Vancouver Film School to working for Warner Brothers and earning the biggest amount of money I had ever done performing, with also some time spent in Vegas performing as a showgirl.

This is where I started to understand that what I thought would make me feel rich, happy and validated wasn’t that glamorous or actually incredible. So then through logic I questioned if being rich is the same learning too? I was learning that the ideology of ‘top of the pops’ and being in the cast of 'Eastenders' maybe didn’t automatically make you happy as judging from the taster I had felt in North America, I wasn’t.

I was actually happier in that year in the unpaid roles, and well, that threw a spanner in the works because the ultimate goal was a life of freedom leading to happiness and to be rich, which with a couple of other reason that you can learn more about in my ‘freedom blog’ was the beginning of the end to that dream.

We need to make sacrifices to achieve long-term happiness and freedom

In 2015 I changed direction and I founded a property business. I thought that “that will be the route to being rich” and then I can produce my own shows and star in them myself. Oddly, it took me four years to figure out that building that entity into a 6-figure business with another woman actually led me to the same place of having limited freedom, limited personal wealth and I just wasn’t that happy going to work in ‘my’ business.

Another wonderful lesson from the wonderful universe. I would refer to these learnings now and teach my clients so they don’t fall in as many pit holes as me that these are an example of ‘short wins’, basically something that gives us an ego boost or a burst of happiness for a short moment and sometimes we can hang onto it for years.

I see it’s a pattern now that often comes from the curriculum, the outside world, and social media which teaches what ‘true happiness’ looks like.

They supposedly show us the real route to being rich and happy, because that’s what we all want right, well I'm guessing you do if you’re still reading haha? Don’t worry, no shame here, I still want those things too.

So essentially, what’s the point of being rich if we are not happy? To fully clarify we can of course, I believe, be rich and happy but i’ve learnt a lot about ‘what’ version of that we need to give us that actual outcome. To be truly fulfilled and have longevity financial wealth is understanding early on the difference between ‘short wins’ and ‘deep wins’.

Short wins might look like daily coffees at Starbucks, a 5-star holiday to Dubai, your name next to ‘founder’ on a business, the designer trainers everyone else has on Instagram, your dream car, or moving out of your family home. Having a boyfriend that looks amazing on social media that your family at weddings congratulates you for, but he doesn’t actually want you to truly feel safe, happy or heard, you get it right? They are short.

Alternatively, the ‘deep wins’ are when someone pays you money to literally do what you do in your ‘spare time’ and loads of it, Waking up every morning not feeling like you are surviving paycheck to pay check. Like you are in force hating the way you daily routine unfolds and waiting for your ‘days off’.

It could be working with people that you truly enjoy being around or having a deeply loving partner, that is literally what you would have dreamed of, you get the idea! Now, the hard news is we have to be willing to give up the short wins to get the deep wins. It may not be all of them and may not be for very long…but this, my friend, is the crucial bit, I promise you.

I want to challenge you with this because if you truly can’t commit to a month, maybe a year or two of limited short wins for the sake of the life you dream of. Essentially what you are wanting to be ‘rich or successful’ for is what you are expecting to find when you get there.

So it’s more actually about the frustration and lack of belief that if we have to go back 2, 3 or maybe 10 steps by trading in our Mercedes for a smart car or living with your parents for another year in your 30’s is that your dream is slipping away and you will never get it? Or are telling yourself what the world has taught you to think and now I am a lowlife or a failure if I commit to that route?

This is why we take jobs that don’t fulfil us, relationships that don’t truly serve us, or turn off the inspiring video that reminds us that we procrastinate over starting our own dreams but the short ego win to the outside world is all that you are trusting. Whatever way we dress it up, I promise you this because I know it truly from personal experience and from unpacking and elevating my clients and their businesses and if you ignore this it won’t ever lead to true happiness even if you end up rich.

Learning the secret to financial wealth and happiness

My journey for financial wealth always came from a place of wanting to PROVE to the world that we can all be rich and feel freedom in our every day. No one's intelligence or journey ever intimidated me, I always felt inspired by it. Yet in hindsight I used to run for ‘rich’ because the world says that's the key to everything - validation, everything we desire, success, happiness, freedom…you get it.

As my 32 year old self today I am still working towards a lot of those things including tons on my vision board that requires me to be financially abundant but it comes from a different place today and trust I promise you is A) the easiest way to make money and B) comes with deep rooted fulfilling happiness too.

Recognising and working from my inner self and from my gifts, and shock when I trusted that route, instead of starting another ‘great way to make money’ I have become personally the most financially wealthy that I have ever been as well as the most fulfilled in just this snapshot moment and that is all that truly matters and where happiness is, in our present.

So I want to share with you the biggest learning around wealth that I have experienced. Wealth and happiness come from just being me everyday in the work that I do, and it’s what I would challenge for you if this journey resonates.

Working from your passions is what in turn makes you the most fulfilled, serving your true interests and passions, beliefs and wants. And from my experience, it’s through that authenticity and passion that a flow of financial wealth comes easy and the best relationships, and the most exciting opportunities.

Understanding yourself, your self value and work brings such a place of calmness, control and alignment. I know it may sound like the opposite of what you think brings us fulfillment and happiness but I promise you if you don’t think it today, I’d bet money (appropriate) that one day it will be.

Vibrating from that place truly feels like a feeling of being loved everyday, being rich and financially abundant even when we are striving for more. Waiting or looking for it tomorrow including more money  is like a high you will never chase, happiness only  comes from your present. It can take time to find this clarity for everyone but for sure it comes from feeling connected to your identity, and showing up as that person working through your passions, beliefs and morals mixed with a lot of self love.

This looks different for all of us but for me today I have enough money to buy a flight anywhere in the world, working from my laptop and serving my clients. Enough to support my family or friends in a desperate scenario and nothing around my working pattern limits that.

Later I will have a lovely dinner and maybe a massage, all with my favourite person: me! Ask yourself how different today would look if you had a million in the bank, if that is your desired wish?

Do you actually want that, or do you want it to buy things you might want in the future because that's fear, ‘today’ and ask yourself that again? What do you need today for your sense of freedom, happiness and fulfilment? Start there.

My plans moving forward

Moving forward, for me there are so many things I am dreaming of and that I am manifesting.

This now comes from a place of ‘knowing’ rather than ‘fear’ that my husband, family, the stadiums I want to fill to reach more women and that dream house, already exist. I’m just not in it today and he’s just not around today and I’m pretty busy mentoring incredible Women in their business because that’s how I create my financial wealth so that’s handy!

It’s all about finding the gratitude in where we are and if you can’t then I say this from experience and working with many Women on their businesses and being around wealthy individuals.

It’s vital because the key is knowing you can have it everything you desire…and realising that it’s the sense of fear that makes you want more money. The fear of not having money and fear of not being able to one day achieve the destiny that you are dreaming of.

And the harsh reality of that is that there is shadow work that needs to be done from your past or belief system because at that point it’s coming from a place of insecurity or just disbelief. I want you to know truly as I gain more wealth, what’s funny is the materialistic stuff I dreamed of and wanted the most, I actually want a lot of it less now (but still some of it, that’s fully ok).

I guess that’s because I know I can have it? So you start seeing clearly what I wanted for validation or what my heart truly desired. Now I know what you’re thinking, “It’s alright for you to say that, I’d love to have that problem” but what I’m telling you is you can all have it too - I believe you can all attract it.

That’s the problem if you’re doubting it you won’t attract it, you need to work on your belief system first.

By practicing and sitting in gratitude daily and being brave to ‘trust in the process’ is where it starts, I promise you! Knowing the biggest failure is the societal temptation to compare to others’ journeys and actually realising that as soon as your life is ready for your dreams and desires they’ll appear and that’s the most exciting feeling and place of being rich in every present moment.

You have to be ok with not getting rich to become rich and happy, otherwise you are chasing it for validation or insecurity.
